WDR as a guest at the ZDS

“The ZDS offers new, exciting moments and events every day. The diversity and dynamism of the ZDS ensure that there is always something interesting to report,”   says Andreas Bertram, Managing Director of the ZDS.

This commitment spans more than 70 years, since the foundation stone for the first school building was laid on 18 September 1952, followed by the inauguration on 16 January 1954.
To mark the anniversary on 16 January 2024, WDR visited ZDS to gain an insight behind the scenes and learn about the production of confectionery.

How are chocolate, biscuits and gum and jelly products made, and what career opportunities does this industry offer? The answers are provided by our trainees, 450 of whom have opted for a career in the food and confectionery industry at the ZDS.

  • We offer 3 dual training occupations: confectionery technologist, food technology specialist and machine and plant operator.
  • In addition, further training courses such as the state-certified technician, the certified industrial foreman in food and the certified industrial foreman in confectionery are available.

Would you like to know more about what it means to work in the confectionery industry?
