Several years passed before this became a reality. Finally, on January 28, 1951, the “Association of the Central College of the German Confectionery Industry” was founded in Dortmund. Spontaneously, 164 companies came together as founding members, clarified organizational issues, drew up teaching and financial plans and began negotiations with twelve cities about the location. The decision was made in favor of Solingen-Gräfrath. A suitable site of 10,000 square meters was purchased.
