From ZDS members for ZDS members:
The new EU regulation for deforestation-free supply chains poses new challenges for the confectionery industry.
The EU regulation for deforestation-free supply chains (EUDR), which came into force on
entered into force on June 29, 2023, poses significant challenges for companies, especially in the cocoa industry.
In order to keep raw materials and products that contribute to deforestation or forest degradation out of EU markets, companies must make extensive adjustments in the areas of compliance and supply chain transparency.
Against this background, Osapiens, a proven partner for compliance solutions, hosted a web seminar on September 3, 2024 to provide information about the new regulations and offer solutions.
Osapiens is not only a member of the ZDS, but is already working closely with its member companies and other leading players in the industry to support them in implementing the EUDR requirements.
Companies that are not classified as SMEs have until
December 30, 2024 to be EUDR compliant.
For smaller companies, this obligation will apply from June 2025.
In our web seminar, participants learned what specific requirements the EUDR places on the cocoa industry in particular and how these can be implemented efficiently and in compliance with the law.
Our Managing Director, Andreas Bertram, opened the web seminar and then handed over to Michael Frank, Senior Manager Strategic Partnerships at Osapiens.
