From ZDS members for ZDS members:
The sweetest successes are written at the ZDS: Tech-Day sugar coating
Despite the rain, the participants were not deterred from attending the Tech-Day: Sugar Coating at the ZDS.
In our new seminar series “By ZDS members – for ZDS members”, Glass GmbH & Co. KG and ZDS e.V. jointly organized a seminar on the advantages of in-house decorating powder production technology.
Six experts from the industry offered an intensive program that provided comprehensive insights into the production and application of decorative powders.
Prof. Dr. Edgar Langenberg explained how processes such as hydrogenation and transesterification influence the physical properties of fats, such as melting points and stability.
These technologies are crucial for optimizing specific properties such as melting behaviour, shelf life and stability in decorative powder production.
Prof. Rainer Barnekow dealt with the physical change of sucrose through the mechanicalprocess of grinding. These processes break up the crystal structure and create hygroscopic properties that require special storage conditions. Another highlight of the seminar was the contribution by Dipl.-Ing. Karsten Ollesch, who presented various mixing processes and explained their special features. During the breaks, the participants took the opportunity for intensive networking, while a joint lunch in our canteen encouraged further exchange. The day was rounded off with a guided tour of the ZDS, led by our Managing Director Andreas Bertram.
